About Us

ALS-OPM.org is an academic initiative of leading ALS centers across Europe, dedicated to standardizing the phenotypic classification of ALS. By providing a consistent framework for describing ALS motor phenotypes (OPM Classification) and harmonizing the assessment of the ALS Functional Rating Scale in its revised, self-explanatory form (ALSFRS-R-SE), we aim to strengthen comparability in clinical practice and research across countries. This website offers open-access, nonprofit resources for the latest versions of the OPM Classification and ALSFRS-R-SE in multiple languages, practical guidance for phenotype classification, and scientific publications from participating ALS centers.

APST Research, based in Berlin, Germany, hosts this website purely as a technical service provider and does not influence the content, classifications, or documents presented here.

We welcome clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals to freely download, use, and share these materials to help drive progress in ALS care and research.
